SOLAR Enhancements Web Servicing for 2 August
Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (HX12 04)
Introduction to the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver SCQF level 5 (GP3J 45)
We will shortly update SOLAR to improve the process of entering and resulting candidates.
The change will be implemented on Wednesday 2 August for the following qualifications:
• Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (HX12 04)
• Introduction to the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver SCQF level 5 (GP3J 45)
What will change?
The update will ensure candidate data relating to this qualification is automatically transferred between SQA Connect and SOLAR.
This means that – instead of having to enter candidate details on both SOLAR and SQA Connect – you will only have to enter candidates details once, on SQA Connect. The details will then be automatically transferred to SOLAR.
Likewise, once candidates have completed the Introduction to the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver SCQF level 5 on SOLAR, the results will automatically pass to SQA Connect without the need for any further input from you.
As well as meaning less work for you, this will also improve the quality and accuracy of candidate data.
Information is transferred between SQA Connect and SOLAR hourly – so you may need to wait up to an hour for updated candidate details to display on SOLAR.
Please note, for the Health and Safety in a Construction Environment qualification, you will still need to check results on SOLAR and then input into SQA Connect as is the current process. This is to allow learners to resit individual components of the unit if required.
What do I need to do?
From Wednesday 2 August, you:
• must use SQA Connect to enter candidates for this qualification, or to update any candidate details.
• must not create or update any candidate details directly in SOLAR.
Any candidates already created in SOLAR and scheduled for an assessment can complete their assessment as normal, but you must ensure they have been entered via SQA Connect.
